Meet the Cashions

William R. “Trey” Cashion III, M.T.S. & Stephanie Cashion, MSW

Co-Founders of  Mystery of Parenthood.com

Trey and Stephanie focus their speaking and writing on helping people connect their faith with their lives – as spouses, as parents, etc. – through the practical, concrete application of the Catholic Faith into those areas.  They attempt to connect God’s vision for humanity – “man being fully alive” – with their own personal lives through the practical, every day application of Church teaching on Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer.

Trey co-authored Together in God’s Love, a marriage preparation program published by Our Sunday Visitor and used by multiple Dioceses and Parishes across the country. He has spoken and written extensively on the Sacraments and Spirituality, Married and Family Life, Sexuality, Parenting, and Leadership.  He also co-founded the RED-C Apostolate and serves as a Board Member of this apostolate, which has brought Catholic radio (KEDC 88.5 FM) to the Brazos Valley.  His desire is to help people concretely bridge the gap between the faith they profess and the lives they lead, helping them to see the meaning in their lives, to live meaningfully, and to be fully, consciously, and actively involved in the liturgy of their lives.

Trey and Stephanie enjoy speaking together on the sacrament of marriage and particularly on parenting.  They currently host a weekly, live, call-in radio show called Mystery of Parenthood that airs on Wednesdays from 1-2 PM on 88.5FM KEDC radio in the Bryan College Station area.  It can also be listened to online at www.redcradio.com.  Recordings of the show can be accessed via their blog or via podcast. Their mission is to encourage and empower couples to rediscover the mystery of marriage, parenting, and family life and to recommit to living that mystery with strength, courage and enthusiasm.

Professionally, Trey has worked in healthcare as an account executive for a physician-hospital organization, a practice administrator for a Cardiology practice, and a consultant for an Independent Practice Association.  He worked with physicians as a financial planner focusing on Asset Protection.  For the last seven years, he has been a Vice-President and has worked as a Private Banker/Loan Officer with First Victoria National Bank, marketing to and maintaining relationships with high net worth individuals, physicians, and attorneys in the Bryan-College Station area.  He and his associate have grown the Private Banking loan portfolio in the Brazos Valley from under $500,000 to over $40,000,000 and deposits from under $100,000 to over $15,000,000.  They have increased market share in the market from less than 2% to over 25% in that same timeframe.

Stephanie received her B.S. from Louisiana State University in Human Services.  She also holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston and was a geriatric social worker in Houston and Dallas prior to starting their family.  For the last 14 years, she has been a stay-at-home mom who has homeschooled all six children.

Trey received his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987, his teaching certification from Sam Houston State University in 1988, and his Master of Theological Studies from the University of Dallas’s IRPS program in 2001 where he studied under the likes of Douglas Bushman, Father Mitch Pacwa, and Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio.

The Cashions are parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station.  Trey and Stephanie have been married for 24 years and have six children – Treivor, Madison, Greyson, and the triplets  – Kolbe, Kennedy, and Kingsley.
